Nix the Nutcracker
Chunk the chestnuts
Cast off the carols
Make mulch out of the mistletoe
Toss the tree
Remove any semblance of festivity from it if you like. Christians celebrate Christmas.
And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. (1 John 3:23)
Christians are to believe on Christ and honor Him all the time, and love their fellow human beings.
Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. (Galatians 4:10, 11)
On the other hand, produce all the festivity you like: if you don’t honor Christ, then it isn’t Christmas.
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. (1 Timothy 2:8)
Everyone should celebrate Christmas, because it is God’s will that all believe in Him. In the last few days before the “official” Christmas observance, consider this: is it time to truly honor Jesus Christ as you never have before?
