This post continues a series called six steps to change. Next in the series will be on loving where you’re going and what you’re doing.
Climate, air, water, soil, sun, nutrients… all are essential to growth. The proportion of each that is needed depends on the species.
A growth environment is different for everyone. The two examples in recent years of going where I could grow have been in my job and in the church.
Environment is everything. Being fulfilled in what you do depends on being in an environment where you can freely give and freely receive.
What can you give: do your talents and values line up with the people around you? What is your purpose and how is it fulfilled? Are you passionate about what you are doing? Are you contributing? Are you inspired?
What can you receive: what makes you tick? Do you thrive on feedback? Need interaction? Opportunities for advancement? Do you want to be more independent? Need more structure?
A growth environment involves nurture and challenge. Where are you? Do you need to be stretched or stabilized?
